The University of Health Sciences (UHS) will conduct the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT), today (Sunday) at 29 centres set up in 11 cities of the province. More than 67,000 candidates will take the admission test.
The question papers and other sensitive examination materials were dispatched to various cities on Friday under tight security arrangements. The examination papers were kept in sealed steel trunks.
As many as 19,000 candidates in Lahore, 13,600 in Multan, 4,000 in Gujranwala, 5,000 in Bahawalpur, 7,500 in Faisalabad, 3,000 in D.G. Khan, 1,700 in Gujrat, 3,000 in Sargodha, 2,500 in Sialkot, 3,300 in Rawalpindi and 3,700 candidates in Sahiwal will take the test.

Eligibility Criteria for MDCAT:
The eligibility criteria for MDCAT are as follows:
- Entire Pakistanis Nationals, overseas Pakistanis, and foreign nationals are legitimately eligible to register for and attempt the MDCAT exam.
- For MDCAT 2023 registration, F.Sc/HSSC/A level results/degrees are not required.
- There are some limits for candidates, to appear only once in the MDCAT exam per calendar year.

PASSING CRITERIA [MDCAT EXAM]:
It is recommended by dental & medical colleges in Pakistan to The national academic board to lower MDCAT pass percentages for dental admissions as a result of two recent conferences.
Now, The Board has directed National Medical to collect the average MDCAT exam scores from the provinces and Jinnah Sindh Medical University.
Based on an analysis requested from provinces, the MDCAT Pass Marks for the BDS Program have been lowered to 55%. The council held its 12th meeting on 27th June 2023.
MDCAT PASS PERCENTAGES FOR RECENT EXAMS:
This year, the PMC website is offering an equivalence score calculator for students who took the 2021 test and want to use their 2021 scores for the 2022-23 admissions.
This year, the MDCAT is now offered online, allowing students to plan their MDCAT on their own time. It can also be postponed to another date if the student falls ill one day before the chosen date. The same test is administered in public and private medical schools.

This year there will be different versions of the MDCAT tests. To accommodate more than 130,000 students, more than one test (maybe three, four, or even more) can be held.
Students will only take the test at the centers listed above. Once the student has completed the MDCAT test, the results will be displayed on the computer screen.

The scheduling option is expected to reopen on Aug, 2023, and allow candidates to directly reschedule their exams in the event of an emergency or health concern.
If space is available, a candidate may only reschedule their exam within 72 hours or 3 days of their originally scheduled exam date OR within 24 hours or 1 day of missing their originally scheduled exam.
If an emergency requires a rescheduling and no future dates are available at any center in the same province, the candidate may request an Emergency Rescheduling through the Complaint Management System (https://cmspmc.com/registerComplaint.aspx).
EXAM CONDUCT [ MDCAT ]:
Mandatory Requirement: Please bring your original identity document (CNIC/ Passport/ POR /B form/NICOP) plus a Hard copy of the COVID Vaccination certificate to the exam center. No student will be allowed to sit in the exam without identity verification with corresponding original documents and a COVID Vaccination certificate.
