Founded in 1947, with former name of Kanto Medical School, Dalian Medical University was incorporated into Dalian University in 1949 and named Medical School of Dalian University. It was separated from Dalian University in 1950 and named Dalian Medical School. In 1969, it was immigrated to Zunyi, Guizhou Province and called Zunyi Medical School. While Dalian Medical School was reestablished in the original address in 1978 and renamed as Dalian Medical University in 1994. China Medical University (CMU) was the first medical school established by the Chinese Communist Party. Its precursor was the Chinese Workers’-Peasants’ Red Army Military Medical School and Chinese Workers’-Peasants’ Red Army Health School founded in Ruijin city, Jiangxi province in 1931. After the Long March with the red army, it moved to Shan-bei. In 1940, proposed by comrade Mao Ze-dong and approved by the central committee of Chinese Communist Party, the name of the school was changed to China Medical University. In July, 1946 the university was ordered to enter north-east China with the army and reached Xin-shan city(now He-gang city),Hei-long-jiang province. In November,1948 the whole north-east China was liberated and the university was ordered to move to Shenyang. It merged the former national Shenyang Medical College founded in 1911 and the former private Liaoning Medical College founded in 1892 (both in Shenyang city).

CMU occupies a total land area of 1,930,000 square meters with 743,000 sq.m of building area. The library with its more than 600,000 volumes of collection is the northeast regional center of National Medical Literature Resources Sharing Network of the Ministry of Health, northeast knot of China Medical Information Network, a national health science and technology referee unit for checking novelty. The laboratory animal center of CMU is also the provincial centers of laboratory animals and their quality control, breeds 23 species and strains of experimental animals for teaching and research.
So far CMU has established good exchange and co-operation relations with 45 universities, institutes and institutions in Japan, USA, UK, France, Russia, Korea and Canada etc. 195 internationally famous scientists have been conferred honorary titles of CMU, 3487 teachers have been sent abroad for research or advanced training. 48 international co-operative projects have been conducted recently.
Chongqing Medical University (CQMU), originally known as Chongqing Medical College, was founded in 1956, growing out of Shanghai First Medical College (the present Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University). With nearly 60 years of development, CQMU has become a major public medical university that is jointly administrated and supported by the Ministry of Education of China and the Ministry of Health of China as well as Chongqing Municipal Government. The university has a comprehensive system of academic training, from Bachelor to Master, Doctor and Postdoctoral in medicine as well as other related fields. In2013, CQMU ranks the 6th among all medical universities in China. Regarding graduate education and discipline competitiveness, our university ranks the 12th among all Chinese universities offering medical disciplines.
The university has two campuses, Yuanjiagang Campus and Jinyun Campus, covering an area of 2.02 km2. Nanchang University
Medical College of Nanchang University (MCNU; Chinese: 南昌大学医学院; pinyin: Nánchāng Dàxúe Yīxúeyuàn), is the medical school of Nanchang University in Nanchang, Jiangxi province. It is a key university under the administration of the Jiangxi Provincial Government.
Founded in 1921, the medical college of Nanchang University was originally named Jiangxi Public Medical School which was the earliest medical school in Jiangxi Province.[1] In 1958, the school was merged with 8th military medical school of Chinese People’s Liberation Army, and changed its name to Jiangxi Medical College. In 2005, a merger was implemented between Jiangxi Medical College and Nanchang University; since then, the combined body has used the new name Medical College of Nanchang University. In its long history of development, the college has evolved a philosophy of “High Morals with Outstanding Expertise” and spirit of “strictness, diligence, solidarity and innovation” along with profound cultural deposits.
The predecessor of Jiangxi Medical College (Medical Department) of Nanchang University is the Jiangxi Public Medical College founded in 1921. In 1952, it was renamed Jiangxi Medical College, and in 1953 it was renamed Jiangxi Medical College. In 1958, it merged with the Eighth Military Medical School of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army and was still called Jiangxi Medical College. In 1969, it merged with Jiangxi College of Traditional Chinese Medicine to establish Jiangxi Medical University. In November 1972, it was separated from Jiangxi College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and renamed Jiangxi Medical College. In August 2005, it merged with Nanchang University and was named Nanchang University School of Medicine. In 2014, Nanchang University implemented the reform of the medical education management system. The college was named the Nanchang University Medical Department and was named the Jiangxi Medical College of Nanchang University.

Jinggangshan University (JGSU, simplified Chinese: 井冈山大学; traditional Chinese: 井岡山大學; pinyin: Jǐnggāngshān Dàxué) is in the Jinggangshan Mountains in Qingyuan District, Ji’an city of Jiangxi province in China.[1] JGSU is jointly supported by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China and the People’s Government of Jiangxi Province, pair-assisted by Tongji University and authorized by Nanjing Military Region for cultivation of military talents and cadres.
JGSU comprises 21 schools offering 75 undergraduate majors with modern language laboratories and computer centers covering around 170 hectares.[2] Out of nearly 1600 academic staff, 129 are professors and 409 associate professors, of which 154 possess a doctoral degree, and 611 a master’s degree.

History:
Jinggangshan University was established in 1958 in Ji’an. Chinese Communist Party Chairman Mao Zedong and his colleagues established the first rural base of the revolution in the Jinggangshan Mountains in 1927.[3] In 1963, JGSU was closed for five years due to poor economic conditions in China.
In 1978, to reinstate JGSU, the Branch of Jiangxi Normal University and the Jiangxi Medical University in Jinggangshan were joined together. In April 1982 and March 1993, they were renamed as ‘Jinggangshan Teacher’s College’ and ‘Jinggangshan Medical School”, respectively. In March 2000, after approval by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China (MOE), Jinggangshan Teacher’s College was renamed to Jinggangshan University after merging with Ji’an Educational Institute. In July 2003, approved once again by the MOE, Jinggangshan Normal University was renamed to Jinggangshan University by joining Jinggangshan Medicine College and Jinggangshan Vocational Technical College.

Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine(JXUTCM)[1] has been approved by the Ministry of Education, P.R. The school began to recruit international students of MBBS with TCM as an extra in 2004. Approved by the former State Board of Education in 1987, the school was upgraded to a college for medical undergraduates. In 1993, the college was granted to train foreign students and in 2006, it was authorized to conduct graduate programs. GLMU was recognized as an “Excellent University” by the Ministry of Education of China in 2012.
For the past five years, the university has undertaken 945 research projects, 117 of which are national projects, 161 provincial and ministerial projects, 44 science and technology achievement awards at all levels. It won 49 national patents, including 12 invention patents, 4,194 research papers, including 168 SCI and EI Indexed Papers, 1,791 Chinese core journals and completed 134 provincial teaching reform project in nearly five years. GLMU was conferred the national teaching award and 33 provincial teaching achievement awards. The university was featured in the “Chinese Medicine” Chinese Academic journal, “China Journal”, “Articles Digital Periodicals” online journal, the journal of the American Chemical Abstracts and Guangxi outstanding scientific journal.

GLMU currently has campuses located in Le Qun, Dong Cheng and Lingui covering a total area of 1334.27 acres.
Le Qun campus, the oldest of the three, is situated in downtown Guilin across one of the best hospitals in Guangxi Province, the Affiliated Hospital of Guilin Medical University where the medical students have their training and practice. This campus is also beside the famous Li River (Guangxi) and the Jingjiang Princes’ City.
The university’s main campus, Dong Cheng, is in the east bank of the Li River near the Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts and Guilin University of Technology. It is where the offices such as the International Education Department and the Foreign Languages Department are found. The foreign medical students take their respective classes in this campus.
The biggest campus lies in the beautiful Lingui District. Lingui campus has an area wide enough to cater to the students enrolled in the university. Surrounded with a lake, tall trees and colorful flowers, it provides an eco-friendly environment to teachers, students and visitors alike.
GLMU has 20 secondary college departments, six affiliated hospitals, 23 clinical teaching laboratories, and 94 classrooms for teaching practice.
Guilin Medical University gives priority to clinical medicine and integrates pharmacy, biotechnology, medical assay, and nursing. It is a multi-major university developed harmoniously with a strong comprehensive power and a definite influence in and out of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. GLMU takes an active part in the international exchanges and cooperation, and is one of the earliest institutions of higher learning accredited by the former State Education Committee.

Xinxiang Medical University (Chinese: 新乡医学院) is located at Xinxiang city in the northern part of Henan province of China.Xinxiang Medical University has a vast campus with about 7000 undergraduates.The Foreign Students Programme of Xinxiang Medical University under the International Education Institute of XXMU, has been running successfully at the university since 2001.More than 1000 foreign students from Nepal and India have already graduated from the university since 2001.There are more than 120 foreign students pursuing Western Medicine studies at this college.
A provincial public medical University, Xinxiang Medical University has been in operation since 1950 and been granted recognition by the WHO since 1958. Located in Xinxiang City, the University lies north of Yellow River and faces the Taihang Mountain in the south. Beijing-Guangzhou,Beijing-Zhuhai Railway and Xinxiang-He Railway all meet Xinxiang City, which lies at 113 degrees east longitude and 36 degrees north latitude, 90 kilometers from Zhengzhou International Airport.
The university was built on a profound cultural inheritance with a long history which predecessor can be traced back to the Western Medical Clinic by a British Missionary in 1896. Totally there are over 43727 students,among them there are 12486 undergraduates, 564 postgraduates, 15222 adult education students,16 foreign students. Presently there are 8366 staff including 939 professionals, among them there are 300 more teachers honored as national candidates of “New Century Project for Training Hundreds of Thousands of Persons with Ability and Innovation”, National State Subsides, National Excellent Teacher etc. Now there are 19 departments, which cover medicine, literature, science, technology, management and so on. The University has 86 departments, one postdoctoral research station and 10 Research Institutes for Tuberculosis, Ophthalmology, and Mental Diseases etc.
The university campus covers 1.158 million m², among which architectural areas are 73.07 million m². The teaching equipment is worth93.88 million Yuan RMB. A modern library was built with about 97.27 thousand books, facilitated with an exchange platform among 110 academic organizations from both domestic and foreign libraries. An anatomic specimen museum was built and collected around a thousand specimens. The university has five medical journals issued publicly to domestic and abroad: Journal of Xinxiang Medical University, Journal of Ophthalmic Recent Advances, Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics, and Journal of Clinical Psychosomatic Diseases. In order to meet the necessity of running this University, four affiliated hospitals were built with a total 8000 beds, and 14 teaching hospitals and more than 50 teaching intern bases as well. We have established sound cooperation with many large hospitals covering Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Ji’nan and so on.
The First Affiliated Hospital is located Weihui County, Henan Province, which originated from the Christian Huimin Hospital founded in 1896. It is an “AAA” comprehensive hospital combining medical treatment, teaching and scientific research with more than 2800 beds. The Second Affiliated Hospital, also called the Mental Health Hospital of Henan Province, is the only “AAA” provincial mental hospital combining medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention and judicial (forensic) identification. Among these the Sector of Psychiatry is provincially emphasized as a key clinic sector. This hospital is also the provincial Research Institute of Mental Health, the provincial Prevention & Treatment Center of Mental Diseases, the provincial Abstaining & Treatment Center of Drug Addiction and the Mental Health Association of Henan province. There are now 1500 beds in it. The Third Affiliated Hospital is a newly built modern comprehensive hospital with over 1400 beds, which lies in the new developing area of the eastern suburb of Xinxiang City. The Fourth Affiliated Hospital is also named as Xinxiang Central Hospital, which is a comprehensive hospital with more than 3000 beds. The Fifth Affiliated Hospital newly joined in this university with the name as First Renmin Hospital. It is also a comprehensive hospital with 1600 beds.

Qiqihar Medical University (Chinese: 齐齐哈尔医学院; pinyin: Qíqíhāěr Yīxué Yuàn) is an institution for higher education, founded in 1946 and located in Qiqihar city of Heilongjiang province in northeast China. Taishan Medical University, located in Taian, Shandong, China, was founded in 1891 as the Huamei Hospital Medical School. The university was co-founded with Gonghe Medical School in 1903. Taishan Medical University was originally named Medical College of Qilu University in 1903. In 1952, the Medical College of Qilu University merged with Shandong Medical College. In 1970, Shandong Medical College merged with Shandong College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and moved to the Loude district of Xintai, a suburb of Taian. The Loude Branch College of Shandong Medical College was founded in 1974 and then was moved to Taian City in 1979. Its name was changed into the Taian Branch College of Shandong Medical College. With the approval of the State Council in 1981, its name was then changed to Taishan Medical University.
Taishan Medical University covers an area of 200 hectares with a construction area of 780,000 square meters. The university now has fixed assets valued at RMB 1.36 billion Yuan including teaching, science and research equipment with a total value of more than 156 million Yuan. Hubei University of Medicine (HUM) is located in the center of Shiyan, the Motor City, in Hubei Province, People’s Republic of China. The five affiliated hospitals are the highest Level Three hospitals in the country, with 6 million out-patients and 300,000 in-patients annually. Wuhan University (WHU) is a comprehensive and key national university directly under the administration of the Ministry of Education. The history of Wuhan University can be traced back to Ziqiang Institute, which was founded in 1893 by Zhang Zhidong, the then governor of Hubei Province and Hunan Province in the late Qing Dynasty. The former Jianghan Petroleum University was affiliated to China National Petroleum Corporation. It grew out of Beijing Petroleum Industry School founded in Beijing in 1950 and was named Jianghan Petroleum University in 1978.
